Project Introduction

Hábitat is the second EP by Martín Maez, an album in Galician that celebrates the connection between the artist and the elements that make up his environment. The main goal of the project was to design a cover that visually represented the Galician habitats and transported the listeners into the artist’s personal universe. The initial search focused on identifying the most representative elements of these habitats, creating a composition that combined nature, emotion, and authenticity.

Creative Concept and Process

The cover was designed around a central element: a heart, symbolizing the connection between the artist and his environment. This heart became the centerpiece of an illustrated composition, formed by the most characteristic elements of the Galician habitats. Drawing inspiration from the local ecosystems, I established a spatial order within the design: terrestrial animal species at the top of the heart, plant species in the center, and aquatic animal species at the bottom. In this way, the illustration captured the two most representative ecosystems of Galicia, the forests and the sea, creating a visual narrative that connects emotion and ecology.

Resultados e Impacto

The final cover design not only succeeded in reflecting the album's content but also stood out for its symbolic depth and carefully crafted aesthetics. The combination of detailed illustrations and a solid conceptual composition helped create a unique graphic piece that resonated with the audience and the artist's values. This project not only reinforced Martín Maez's identity as an artist but also emotionally connected with the listeners, inviting them to explore their own personal habitat.
